Loving, powerful,
humorous, sincere - one moment you are laughing, the
next you are crying - all these phrases describe the
ministry of Arlene Patterson.
Arlene was born and
raised in Mississippi by dedicated, Christian parents.
She received her B.S. Degree in Speech and Drama from
Mississippi University for Women, where she was selected for
numerous honors and was listed in Who's Who in American
Colleges and Universities.
Upon college
graduation in 1965, Arlene married R.W.P. Patterson. Bob
served in the Army for 25 years and retired as a Lieutenant
Colonel. In addition, he has served as a church Business
Administrator and recently retired after serving 13
years as Vice President for Operations at Central Bible
College in Springfield, Mo.
Prior to launching
Hospitality Plus Ministries, Arlene spent 20 years in
management in the medical and dental fields and served
as Administrative Assistant at Central Assembly in
Springfield for seven years.
It was as a military
family for 25 years that Arlene and Bob were privileged
to live virtually all over the world. They have been
able to minister in small churches, large churches,
military chapels and everything in between!
Consequently, they are at home in any setting.
Military life was
also full of change and relocation for the Patterson
family. As a result, Arlene learned to rely on people to
accept and love her in many different congregations over
the years. Arlene is very sensitive to the "Ministry of
Hospitality" in local churches and has organized and
directed such ministries with great success. Her heart
of sharing the gospel is evident in her approach to this
special ministry.
Eager to help fulfill
the Great Commission, Arlene welcomes every opportunity
to share the Word of God. Believing that the Word is
anointed to set the captive free and to bind up the
broken-hearted, she boldly speaks about the fullness of
the power of God! In addition to being an exciting
seminar speaker, Arlene is always in demand to speak at
women's ministry groups and retreats. She is also a
motivational speaker for church staff members. Arlene uses her favorite scripture as
the cornerstone of her ministry and training:
"And
whatsoever ye do, do it heartily as unto the Lord and
not unto men" Colossians 3:23
